Preparing to deal with Russia:Common people in Ukraine are practicing fighting with fake guns, soldiers are training
Tension continues in Russia and Ukraine even after the ceasefire. The Russian army is laying siege of Ukraine on land as well as at sea. It is being speculated that if the talks of the diplomats derail, then a war may start on the eastern border of Ukraine. The general public of Ukraine has also geared up in view of the threat of a possible Russian attack. Common people are doing military exercises of their own free will along with the army to face any threat through fake guns.
According to
media reports, in many cities of Ukraine, the Territorial Defense Forces have put up hoardings to increase people's participation in military exercises. These hoardings read, "Know how to protect your home today."
The Territorial Defense Forces were established in the country following Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014. In this exercise, the general public is being taught the basics of gun handling along with guerilla techniques of attack.
Vlas Honcharuk, who once participated in military exercises with the Russian and Ukrainian forces, who were once brothers , says that Putin is to thank for his aggressive military strategy, because even after independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, Ukraine did not have such a distinct and strong identity. But now a true Ukrainian nation is being built.
Those who practiced with the army still remember the time when both Russia and Ukraine were brothers. However, now the situation has changed. Honcharuk says why did he start this war? Because they do not accept Ukraine as a nation. They consider Ukrainians and Belarusians to be Russians, but second-rate Russians.
The situation is completely different now than in 2014
Retired Ukrainian General Vladimir Hvrilov says that the situation is completely different now than in 2014. Today millions of civilians are well trained and prepared to help the military. At the same time, 55-year-old digital marketer Oleksiy Vasilchenko says that Putin has poisoned the relationship between Ukraine and Russia.
NATO will not send army,
let us tell you that this military exercise of common people also becomes important because America and NATO will hardly send army to protect it. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said on Sunday that even if Russia does attack Ukraine, we do not plan to send troops. America has put its 8,500 soldiers on alert, but it is planning economic action because of military action.
